I suck at Blogging

The good news is that nobody knows, because nobody knows about this blog. I didn't even know about it until I commented on someone else's blog and had to sign in to comment. Imagine my surprise at rediscovering the drivel I have written.

So now what? Perhaps I start blogging regularly? Nah, I can't even keep up a journal. When my heart got crushed I was only able to log about 30 entries--funny shit in that little book though. Man, human beings are pathetic little creatures.

Hmmm, I am off topic. This is supposed to be about Politics and the English language. What sort of comment can I make to rescue this post? Sarah Palin is stupid and inarticulate! Mission accomplished.

To Blog or Not to Blog

That is the question. My position has always been that answers aren't the answer--questions are the answer. I started this blog over a year ago as part of a writing conference. Since then I have encountered a dedicated blogger and have become intrigued by the idea. Am I being slowly dragged into blogging? Or is it my destiny? Or more likely is it my ego run wild and my need to be heard and understood. Pathetic! Reminds me of a poem I wrote called poetic license. Perhaps I should insert it here:

Poetic License
Where is your poetic license?
Don’t tell me you were unaware,
surely you are familiar with the term.

Did you think you could just spout shit without repercussions?

Would you pilot an automobile without proper credentials?
How about bringing a barge down the Mississippi? Brainsurgery?
Have you been to the training classes, have you registered as an apprentice, have
you even studied?

Oh this is easy. . .I’ll just pour my little heart out so that I will feel better, then
I will be a poet and be understood. I will have contributed a great work to society, and
Iwillhavefacilitatedhumanunderstandingsothatnowtheworldisabetterplace

OH, SHUT THE FUCK UP

This poetry is dangerous stuff. Show me your License
or you’re going to Jail.

Another possibility is that a blog would provide me with another opportunity to avoid doing anything worthwhile. Right now I spend as many hours as I can riding my bike, if I added blogging that could eat up a substantial amount of time. Throw in Facebook time and a little TV and I have wasted all available hours. Like right now, I should be applying for a job, renewing my drivers license or paying bills. Instead I am blogging. But I did remind myself that I need to renew my license, so I could ride my bike to Eureka to renew it without breaking the law by driving without a license thus getting things done, AND riding my bike--all thanks to the blog.

Well maybe there is some merit to blogging. We will see.

Newspeak--Lessons from the Bush Administration

I wish I was the first to recognize the line between Newspeak from Orwell's 1984, but I am not. Here are some links that discuss this topic.
